Information about the proposed 2024-25 school year budget

Voters in the Ogdensburg City School will vote on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, on a proposed budget of $55,261,205 for the 2024-25 school year. The proposed spending plan represents a 0% increase over the current year budget, and for the fifth consecutive year, the district is able to present this budget with a 0% increase to the local tax levy.

The primary focus in crafting this budget has been to ensure that every student has access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. From classroom instruction to extracurricular activities, Ogdensburg CSD is dedicated to providing a well-rounded education that prepares our students for success in college, career, and life. The district is committed to providing a rigorous and engaging curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our student population. This budget allocates resources for the development and implementation of innovative instructional practices, as well as the adoption of new curriculum materials to support student learning.

The district will continue to focus on small-scale capital projects called “Capital Outlay Projects.” The proposed 2024-25 Capital Outlay Project will allow the district to complete $100,000

in improvements to district facilities, of which 98% of the costs are reimbursed by the state. This project will have an estimated net cost of $2,000. If approved by voters, the proposed Capital

Outlay Project will address work on the handicapped accessibility of the district’s athletic facility.

Board of education election

Residents will also elect two board of education members to serve five-year terms from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2029.
