We hope all of you have enjoyed the holiday season and are finding 2024 to be off to a good beginning!
As our fall semester comes to a close, we are preparing for semester 1 final exams and projects. January exam week for students in grades 7-12 is M – F, January 22 – 26; Monday will remain a regular day of classes for all students in grades 7-12. Tuesday – Friday will follow a revised schedule, as indicated below.

Periods are scheduled as double periods for all courses that meet daily. Courses and study halls that meet on alternate days (PE, labs, band, chorus, etc), will meet using Day A schedule for the 1st part of the double period, and Day B for the 2nd part of the double period. For example, if John Doe normally has ES lab on Day A, P1 and PE Day B, P1, then he will attend ES Lab from 7:51 – 8:36, and then go to PE from 8:39 – 9:20.
Teachers have reviewed the exam schedule with their students; students have been given the opportunity to draft their own revised schedule with assistance. If any parent/guardian has any questions regarding our revised schedule, please feel free to ask your child or you may call our offices at 393-0900 ext. 31925 (MS) or ext. 31912 (HS).
Some students may be retaking a Regents exam. If a Regents exam conflicts with a school exam, the student must take the Regents exam at the scheduled time. The teacher and student will work together to find an alternate time for the school exam.
Monday, January 22 – regular day of classes; Friday, January 26 – rating day/makeup day. If there is a snow day during exam week, the schedule shifts by one day onto Friday, January 26. If there is a delay, then the missed period will shift onto Friday.
BOCES
Tuesday: AM BOCES is excused at 8:45 for BOCES and will return at 11:30 for lunch/dismissal
PM BOCES is excused at 11:30 for lunch; will then report to BOCES.
Wednesday: AM BOCES will report to assigned SH until dismissal for BOCES @ 8:45 am; will return at 11:30 for remainder of P6. PM BOCES will report to SH from 10:45 – 11:30, then lunch, then dismissal for BOCES.
Thursday: AM BOCES will report to assigned SH until dismissal for BOCES @ 8:45 am; will return at 11:30 am for P9
PM BOCES will report to assigned SH until 11:30 for lunch, then dismissal for BOCES
Any BOCES student who has a final exam is excused from BOCES for that time period to complete their exam. If enough time remains to report to BOCES, we will arrange for transportation.
PM BOCES students are expected to report to BOCES each day except Friday.
If a student has a SH, he/she may sign out in the MS or HS office with parent permission.
Students will only report to school on Friday, January 26, if:
- There has been a delay or snow day and the exam schedule has shifted onto Friday; or
- Students need to makeup an exam for reasons due to absence(s).
Semester 2 begins on Monday, January 29. Some students will see an adjustment in their schedule for reasons such as:
- Completion of a semester course
- Completion of a repeated course
- Change in course requests/requirements
- Change in master schedule
